The Gathering Place is a setting where Care Team® volunteers provide a loving, welcoming and fun environment for family members with mild to moderate memory loss who do not require skilled care. This activity program is a partnership between Interfaith CarePartners and participating congregations. The Gathering Place is typically hosted monthly for 3.5 hours and combines physical movement, socialization, music and other engaging activities in a comfortable environment, enabling caregivers to attend to their personal needs without worry.
A professional staff member attends each Gathering Place to provide support and assistance to the volunteers. An initial intake interview is conducted by Interfaith CarePartners staff to welcome new participants to this program.
The program is provided free of charge. Interfaith CarePartners also sponsors caregiver conferences and support groups. Please contact Interfaith CarePartners® 713-682-5995 to inquire about a specific location and complete the necessary referral and intake process.
